Once again, I am officially addicted to blogging. I don’t know why. I guess it is the time of the year where everyone is getting hooked to this type of activity. Well maybe not. Just for the sake of living up to my post, which is entitled Blog Addiction Strikes Again (As if you can’t see the title above), I would like to share to you some facts about blogs and the act of blogging.
Fact number 1. There are approximately 120,000 new blogs created every single day. And over-all, there are around 50 million blogs created as of today. My blog is the 17th blog over-all. Just kidding.
Fact number 2. There are 6 types of blogs. A Media Blog may consist of videos (vlog), links (linklog), portfolio of sketches (sketchblog), collection of photos (photoblog) and mixed media types with short posts (tumblelogs). A Device Blog refers to blogs written using certain types of devices. A device blog written using a mobile phone or a PDA is called a moblog. A Genre Blog focuses on a specific topic or subject such as fashion, travel and politics. Legal Status Blogs may deal with business topics, communication, marketing and public relations purposes in corporations. Search Engine Blogs are used to search for blog contents. Some examples of Search Engine Blogs are Blogdigger, Technorati and Feedster. The Blogging Communities and Directories Blog include the BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog. The main purpose of this type of blog is to connect bloggers to other bloggers.
Fact number 3. Males are more likely to abandon blogs than females. For a more detailed fact, 46.4% of all blogs created by males were abandoned. [Edited. Thanks to Karl Erfurt]
Fact number 4. Nine percent (9%) of all Internet users say that they have created a blog.
Fact number 5. Out of the 100 most popular websites in the world, 22 of those are blogs. Cool.
Fact number 6. Did you know that 37% of blog readers actually becan reading blogs in the year 2005 to 2006? Now you know. By the way, I am a part of the 63%.
Fact number 7. Almost half of the blog readers in the world shop online. I wish I could shop online. My Paypal balance won’t allow me. Poor me.
Hi Karl, thanks for the comment. it was my mistake. I already edited the post. Thanks again!

“Males are more likely to abandon blogs than females. For a more detailed fact, 46.4% of all abandoned blogs were created by males.”
Ok, maybe I am missing something here, but this statement does not seem to make sense. If 46.4% of abandoned blogs were created by males, that means 53.6% of them were created by females.
Since 53.6% is a majority, doesn’t that mean females are abandoning their blogs slightly more than males? This does not jibe with the initial statement.
Of course, the original statement did not address the issue of people owning multiple blogs, so perhaps this is where the difference is (if females own more blogs per person than males). However, your statement should clarify this because as it stands, the sentence seems illogical.
