Once again, I am officially addicted to blogging. I don’t know why. I guess it is the time of the year where everyone is getting hooked to this type of activity. Well maybe not. Just for the sake of living up to my post, which is entitled Blog Addiction Strikes Again (As if you can’t see the title above), I would like to share to you some facts about blogs and the act of blogging.
Fact number 1. There are approximately 120,000 new blogs created every single day. And over-all, there are around 50 million blogs created as of today. My blog is the 17th blog over-all. Just kidding.
Fact number 2. There are 6 types of blogs. A Media Blog may consist of videos (vlog), links (linklog), portfolio of sketches (sketchblog), collection of photos (photoblog) and mixed media types with short posts (tumblelogs). A Device Blog refers to blogs written using certain types of devices. A device blog written using a mobile phone or a PDA is called a moblog. A Genre Blog focuses on a specific topic or subject such as fashion, travel and politics. Legal Status Blogs may deal with business topics, communication, marketing and public relations purposes in corporations. Search Engine Blogs are used to search for blog contents. Some examples of Search Engine Blogs are Blogdigger, Technorati and Feedster. The Blogging Communities and Directories Blog include the BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog. The main purpose of this type of blog is to connect bloggers to other bloggers.
Fact number 3. Males are more likely to abandon blogs than females. For a more detailed fact, 46.4% of all blogs created by males were abandoned. [Edited. Thanks to Karl Erfurt]
Fact number 4. Nine percent (9%) of all Internet users say that they have created a blog.
Fact number 5. Out of the 100 most popular websites in the world, 22 of those are blogs. Cool.
Fact number 6. Did you know that 37% of blog readers actually becan reading blogs in the year 2005 to 2006? Now you know. By the way, I am a part of the 63%.
Fact number 7. Almost half of the blog readers in the world shop online. I wish I could shop online. My Paypal balance won’t allow me. Poor me.
Geek ALERT! 3 hours (or more) of quality and fully-packed thesis work is needed every day, up to the very last day of preparation. Intensive analysis and critical studying is highly necessary. The final stretch of this year-long study has arrived. Soon enough, me and my thesis mates Cai and Eugene will be in front of an intimidating panel of knowledgeable professors. The death show is coming. Oh well, I am exaggerating.
We still have a bunch of tasks to do. We still need to work on a major presentation and an official thesis paper afterwards. If I have some regrets about our thesis, it is about the fact that I didn’t give my best. Fortunately, we still have roughly around a month to work our butts off on this study. I just realized, I am going to miss thesis. Seriously. Why are you laughing?
If you are interested about the underlying concepts of our study, type Self Organizing Map on your search engine and press the Enter key. You may also search about Java SOM.
I am not actually sick. I think a much suitable term would be "about-to-get-sick". My tongue is a little numb and I can feel some sort of chilling sensation on my skin. Sort of. By the way, I changed the layout of my blog. I will keep this layout probably for good - if my easily changing taste allows it.
I checked the Google page rank of my blog. To my surprise, the shimmering and shiny oval entity appeared in front of me. Page Rank = 0. This is a joke. About a month ago, my blog’s page rank was 4. You gotta be kidding me. I mean Google.
You are probably aware about the usual activities of television channels every start of the year. New programs, new time slots, new promos and a lot more new stuff. And upon the birth of 2008, Sky Cable made a huge improvement in its list of channels. Yes. Huge improvement. Until I found out that Jack TV is no where to be found! The number 1 channel in Louis’s television history is gone! Correct me if I’m wrong about this. And please. If you were able to find Jack TV on your Sky Cable, inform me about the channel number. I am too lazy to browse through the network channels. Goodbye WWE on TV. I’ll just obtain my wrestling pleasures on YouTube.
Have you even been to Europe? Well, to be specific, have you been to Denmark, Norway, or Sweden? These kingdoms that I have mentioned belong to a geographical and absolutely historical region called Scandinavia. The geography of the land of Scandinavia can be considered as varied. One factor is the set of low and flat areas in Denmark called the Scandinavian Mountains.
So where do we start? You might be wondering- "What am I going to do in Scandinavia?". Here are some ideas that I would like to share. Scandinavia is a good place to explore. Those who are traveling should not miss the beautiful sceneries and fascinating slopes of the Scandinavian region. Hotel stopover will surely be an exciting experience because Scandinavia offers many brilliant and cheap places for you to stay in. Some of these inexpensive yet "worth-staying" hotels are located in Sweden and Norway. Sweden Hotels and Norway Hotels come with great packages from 1-star to 5-star classes. The choosing is up to you. To further maximize your travel budget, you may choose from other great options such as Oslo Hotels and Stockholm Hotels.
Here are some quick tips to those who are planning to have a road trip across the Scandinavian region. Never drive when you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Also, do not use your mobile phones while driving. The speed limit on smaller Scandinavian roads is 70 to 80 km/h while the speed limit on residential areas is 30 to 50 km/h. Lastly, always drive on the right side of the road!
